Oral dewormer for filariasis control.
Package containing 1 blister with 6 tablets.
Dewormer.Microfilaricide.Filaria prevention.Ivermectin causes the immobilization of worms by inducing a tonic muscle paralysis, mediated by the potentialization and/or direct activation of glutamate-gated chloride channels sensitive to ivermectin.
Microfilaricide and filaricide prevention in dogs whose etiologic agent is Dirofilaria immitis.
Each tablet contains:
Ivermectin 250 mcg
Excipients q.s.
Preventive treatment: 6 mcg/kg (1 tablet of Ivermectin every 40 kg). One single administration every 30 days (do not exceed this dosage interval) all year long for life. It can be administered with food. If it is suspected that the animal consumed only a part of the product, we recommend readministering the dose.
Do not administer doses higher than the microfilaricide ones to dogs with a mutation of the MDR-1 gene, which increases the blood-brain barrier permeability to macrocyclic lactones (collie, border collie, old English sheepdog or crossbreeds).
Hypersensitivity to dead microfilariae. After the administration, the following may occur:
1) Acute reaction: Shock, generally 5 hours after administration. Provide treatment for shock.
2) Mild reaction: Anorexia, lethargy, mydriasis, ataxia, vomiting, cough and dyspnea. These signs are transient and appear 24-48 hours post treatment.
Do not use in puppies younger than 12 weeks.
